Kerry and Derek Northcott identified numerous businesses with outdated fire safety equipment and procedures through their work as NC Safety Consulting. Sniffing an opportunity for a major expansion, Derek undertook fire safety training and the couple approached Community Futures for the financial assistance; they had the training and skills, but required important pieces of equipment to carry out operations.

Now NC Fire has that equipment, and a great space to start keeping Prince Rupert safer. NC Fire provides inspections of fire suppression systems, hoses, and other systems. They also inspect, test and provide Fire Extinguishers to keep businesses within safety guidelines.
